Good questions
Is AirBackpacker free?
Yes. The Free plan includes one AI-built trip per month, a basic itinerary and hostel search. Explorer and Family add live re-routing, Budget Autopilot, offline mode and more. Waitlist members get founding-member pricing.
How does the live itinerary know when something changes?
AirBackpacker monitors transport updates, weather forecasts, opening times and availability for everything in your plan. When something affects your trip, it suggests a fix (or applies one, if you allow it) and shows you the cost difference first.
Can I book hostels and transport directly?
Yes. Beds, transport, tours, eSIM data and travel insurance can be booked inside your itinerary. Bookings are fulfilled by our travel partners.
Is it safe for solo travellers?
Safety is built in: Travel Squad is opt-in with verified profiles, you control who sees your plans, and you can share your live location with people at home. We also include safety guidance for solo female travellers.
Does Family Mode work with babies and toddlers?
Yes. Family Mode plans around nap times and early dinners, prefers step-free and buggy-friendly routes, filters for family rooms and applies child fares where they're available.
Does it work offline and abroad without roaming?
Your itinerary, maps and tickets are saved to your phone and work without signal. You can also add an eSIM data plan in the app so you're connected when you land.
